Why have a website? keep students and/or parents informed
never lose papers, lesson plans, assignments
use it to interact with students
archive lesson plans...share with others
present at conferences or meetings

Website, Blog, or Wiki???
My quick explanation of the differences is generally this; websites are good for providing a static resource of information, blogs are good for frequent updates and communication, and a wiki is great for collaborating on the creation of a reference site.
